    Daca ar fi sa imi dau cu parerea de cei 2, paul m-a impresionat mai mult in meciurile vazute live, dar nu e prea relevant pentru ca williams a facut 2 meciuri proaste contra toronto. Opinia generala anul trecut era ca paul e mai bun, anul asta sunt multzi care si-au schimbat-o. Paul are o echipa mai slaba si decimata de accidentari, inclusiv el fiind accidentat destul de mult - asha ca e greu sa ii compari anul asta. In plus de asta sunt si jucatori cu stiluri diferite.

    howard si thomas...pot sa castige doar prin creativitate(cum putea s-o faca amare in 2005)...ca hangtime...nu prea au..

    The judges of this year’s Sprite Slam Dunk competition will include Jordan, who is the all-time All-Star Game scoring leader with 262 points in 14 appearances; 1985 and 1990 Slam Dunk champion and Pro Basketball Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins; 1997 Slam Dunk winner and starting guard for this year’s Western Conference All-Stars Kobe Bryant; 2000 Slam Dunk winner and 2007 Eastern Conference All-Star reserve Vince Carter and 11-time NBA All-Star and Pro Basketball Hall of Famer Julius “Dr. J” Erving.

    There are two rule changes for this year’s competition: Upon receiving the ball from the referee, players will have a two-minute time limit to complete their dunk. If a player hasn’t completed a dunk when the two-minute clock expires, he will have two more attempts to do so. Also new this year is the use of television instant replay, at the discretion of the referee, for clarification of rules compliance.

    apropos de deron vs paul, hollinger il considera pe paul superior (net):

In final probabil ca depinde de care va munci mai mult sa ishi imbunatatzeasca aruncarea pentru ca amindoi sunt inca submediocri de la 3pt.

    February 6, 2007 – Chicago Bulls Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations John Paxson has levied a $10,000 fine on Bulls rookie forward Tyrus Thomas for his comments after being selected to participate in the 2007 Sprite Slam Dunk competition to be held on NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by EA Sports on Feb. 17 in Las Vegas.
    “This fine is an appropriate response to the remarks Tyrus made concerning his participation in the Slam Dunk Contest. It is a poor reflection on Tyrus individually and a poor reflection on the Bulls organization and I am certainly disappointed,” stated Paxson.

    “The league office has chosen Tyrus to participate in one of its premiere All-Star events and that is an honor that should be accepted with humility," he continued. "I spoke to Tyrus this morning and am confident he understands that he made a mistake with his words and that he also understands the importance of representing the Bulls and the NBA in a positive way.”

    Thomas (6-9, 215) has appeared in 41 games with Chicago this season, including two starts, and averaged 3.5 ppg and 2.7 rpg in 10.3 mpg.

    eu sincer am crezut ca a fost ironic thomas, mi se pare timpenia absoluta sa declari ca tu mergi la all-star slam dunk contest pentru bani ... mai ales cind premiul e vreo 30 mii de dolari si tu ai salariu anual 4 milioane + ..

    la thomas trebuiau sa ii dea 50.000$ amenda si sa il lase la antrenamente sa joace cu o minge de baschet din cauciuc si veche de vreo 5 ani si asa poate o sa poata aprecia baschetul...ce naiba, nu mai joaca nimeni de placere?

    btw, concursul de slam e foarte overrated si boring......interesul e din ce in ce mai scazut si eu personal as prefera sa ma uit la concursul de 3 puncte sau la skills.......si nu este numai parerea mea....
