I know this is off topic and Ive been trying to avoid posting off topic threads on the forum, But this is perhaps some of the saddest news Ive ever heard. Ive admired and Love Kobashi's work since the first time I saw him, My prayers are with him.

Pro Wrestling Insider, and PuroesuPower.com Report:

Japanese wrestling news website PuroresuPower.com is reporting that wrestling legend Kenta Kobashi, "would undergo medical treatment to remove a renal tumor (kidney cancer). The tumor was discovered during a medical check-up. Medical consultation is currently taking place. There is some concern that the tumor could be malignant." Kobashi, considered one of the all time great in-ring wrestlers of this generation made several rare appearances in the United States last year. A scheduled match on 7/16 at Budokan Hall has been canceled

I saw the news yesturday and it was a real shock ,but i hope he will overcome this situation just like Jushin did. Kobashi is one of/if not the greatest puro wrestler ever.He indeed canceled all of his matches in the Summer Navigation Tour including the 7/16/06 Budokan Show where he was scheduled to be in a tag match that would highlight the return of Yoshihiro Takayama. To show what a great man he is, he apologized to the fans for missing this show, and that says a lot with his current condition. Lets hope for the best!

Yes ... now I've seen this piece of news on other wrestling forums as well but I first read it here ...

That's sad ... I do hope he's gonna get through this cuz I really love his work ... I have heard that he cancelled a 2006 show but I didn't know it was because he was diagnosed with cancer ... let's wait and see how this turns up!

That's quite unfortunate. I've only seen a handful of matches he competed in, but it's not often you can say a wrestler actually carried Samoa Joe in a match. Hopefully the best case scenario is what happens, whatever that may be.

I could not say he carried Samoa Joe in that ROH match but he sure did keep him up in his league ... Joe did his best as well!
